Wale - New Soul ft. Yael Naim (prod. BKS)

(Drake, Wale, Big Sean)
Mixtape season. Wale and Drake’s mixtapes have some bumpin’ tracks, so here’s some for your listening pleasure. Wale hyped up mostly by his collab with Lady GaGa for Chillin’, is overlooked and he spits some quality lyrical flow.
Yael Naim + Wale. You’d think Super Mash Bros would have already mashed these two. Actually, Girl Talk mashed the New Soul track in Feed The Animals, but refer to the following sidenote. (BTW: Download Fuck Bitches. Get Euros. (Mediafire) - Ten fold better than Night Ripper or Feed the Animals IMHO). Anyways, this track is featured in Wale’s “Back to the Feature” mixtape. Check it.
Drake, he’s the he’s the best. He’s the he’s the best. You recognize the name for “Best I Ever Had,” but other than this R&B sound, Drake produces some hard hitting beats including this track with Clipse tracklisted in his Comeback Season (also featuring Lil Wayne, Kardinal Offishal, Trey Songz) mixtape.
Super Mash Bros - Livin’ The Dream (I’m on a Float)
Disclaimer: Does not mix The Lonely Island - I’m on a Boat. Disappointing.

Fuck. I just deleted a long ass post about mash-up.
Just download these songs. Welcome E-603 and Super Mash Bros (and probably more to come). Mash-up getting huge.
Key points:
1. Free distribution
2. Similar sounds/album artwork
3. Expansion of “Mash/mash-up” genre
4. Apple-w = Deletion of long post. :(
Damnit.

Colbie Caillat - Fallin’ For You

So the search for this song started last Thursday when I heard it on MOViN 99.7 back in the Bay around 10 in the evening. Through my searches high and low of the internets and blogosphere, I could not for the life of me find this single and somehow this half-ass, mediocre RADIO station was able to obtain it. This prompted me with two possibilities:
1. I was drunk driving and did not actually hear the song on the radio.
2. Colbie Caillat is a god.
I choose 2 because I have been sober since Sunday’s bottomless mimosas at The Clubhouse in San Luis Obispo. Therefore Colbie Caillat is a god, having kept this single on the extreme DL because only a couple days ago was I able to find the single surface on a few blog sites (and where the hell did they get it from?) But getting to the song, this single is off Colbie Caillat’s sophomore album, Breakthrough, and the single promises the similar, cute, acoustic, yet a little more upbeat Colbie Caillat harmonic trademark sound. This single stands among the ranks of Lucky and Bubbly and gives some of that worry-free, care-free, summer feeling.
(Due to the lack of testicles and man in this post, I will follow with another one hopefully restoring what’s left of my manhood.)

P.S. Consider this a midsummer gift from me to you. If you are one to saunter around music blogs downloading singles and such from file storage sites such as Mediafire or zSHARE, then I strongly urge you to download Skipscreen. Don’t ask me questions. Just do it. (It’s a Firefox plug-in)

Daniel Merriweather - Change (feat. Wale)

Daniel Merriweather - Change (feat. Wale)
A fresh track to start the week off to a good start. Bear with the Daniel Merriweather vocals. Wale rips it up at the end.
Hot rumor: KiD CuDi collab with Ratatat? Nothing new for Ratat given their mixtapes, but this pairing would produce some dynamic music. Hell, here’s another short track with something we can expect in the future from the KiD, an LCD Soundsystem cover. Actually, make that two Kids. Make it a tri-track day. EMBRACE THE MARTIAN.

Kings of Leon - Use Somebody (Andre Anjos Remix)

Genre: Alternative rock, Southern rock, Garage rock revial. Interesting.

Asher Roth - La Di Da

I love college? This track is from Roth’s upcoming album Asleep in the Bread Aisle coming out on April 20. Asher Roth has been accumulating a lotta hate lately for his genre or the imitation of the Slim Shady genre or even further Eminem himself. He’s white and he raps, get over it. Roth is just keeping it real and lays down some nice notes, beats, and rhymes, nothin’ too complicated, nothin’ too gangster, just some easy going lyrical tunes. Stop hating on Asher Roth. He’s not Marshall Mathers. He’s just bein’ Asher and havin’ fun.
Addendum: Asher does throw out a line about first listening to the Slim Shady LP in 7th grade in As I Em (feat. Chester French). Actually, he talks a lot about being compared to Eminem. I don’t know whether this helps the whole situation or not, haha.
Sounds like: A lighter hearted Atmosphere or slow paced CunninLynguists with the slightest hint of Lonely Island humor maybe?
