The Cataracs - Make Him Fall In Love

Free from the captivitity of finals, I thought that fact warranted a post. I’ve blogged about The Cataracs before, but they’ve been really growing on me since Technohop Vol. 1. This new song features some samples from Zombie Nation’s Kernkraft 400, which just kinda makes your head bob and flow with the melody. Technohop describes their genre quite well, hip hop infused techno/dance tracks, and this new song captures that quite well straying away from their original Bay/Hyphy/Hip-Hop style. I feel their style has migrated more towards Technopop than Technohop. I actually like the shift in style though - more catchy honestly, though the reliance on autotone shows. Interestingly enough, this duo also features a 5 piece live band at their shows. Check out more of their music at www.myspace.com/thecataracs. They also just released The Stimulating Package Mixtape available on their space as well. I expected them to start blowing up for a while, and with regular rotations on MTVu and MTV2 of their video Julia, put this duo on the top of your list of bands to break out in 2009.
